Dr. Neal & Team
In an effort to become the best dentist possible, I made sure my education didn’t end with graduation from dental school. I have stayed abreast of the ever evolving field of dentistry by attending hundreds of seminars, courses, symposiums and by constantly reading textbooks and journals. Staying up to date with new techniques, materials and technology is a critical ingredient of modern dentistry.
This constant striving for knowledge is part of my nature. My original studies in engineering allow me to nurture a richer understanding of new high tech tools and approaches to advanced dentistry. My technical knowledge is balanced by my fascination with the theory of color and shape which I learned from my mother who was an artist. When I put a critical eye to cosmetic dental procedures I am able to simultaneously combine strong aesthetics with function and durability to create beautiful, healthy smiles.
Having served on the faculty at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, Loyola University College of Dentistry and Triton College Department of Laboratory Technology early in my career offered the opportunity to better grasp the basic concepts of dentistry.
Exchanging knowledge with my colleagues is important because dentistry has evolved into such a complex profession that no one dentist has all the ideas. As an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Odontographic Society and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. I enjoy the regular opportunity to share successful information with other leading dentists.
I am honored to have practiced dentistry here in the Streeterville area of Chicago and now on Michigan Avenue near the historic Chicago Water Tower landmark.
I also do volunteer dental work where the needs are greatest. You can see some of our work here.
I have learned over the past 30 years that I alone cannot create a great dental service. I must surround myself with a talented, dedicated support team. I’m proud to say that I’ve succeeded in finding outstanding, sensitive people to care for my patients’ many concerns.
While I do not have other dentists as partners in my practice, I consider my Team to be my partners in quality care for our patients. When each of them was hired, they not only had to demonstrate a strong skill set, but as important a desire to be the best, and do the best, for our patients.
I’d like you to get to know them for the talented and dedicated Team that they are. Let me introduce Mary Beth, Tasha, Christina, Giana, and my supportive wife and partner, Randee.
“I love meeting new patients, and try to always give everyone a pleasant, peaceful, and painless experience. If it’s possible to get people looking forward to their 6 month continuing care appointments, I’m the one to do it!”
Mary Beth has a degree in Dental Hygiene from Prairie State College. She has practiced in various types of dental offices including pediatric, periodontal, and general dentistry. She participates in over 20 hours of continuing education per year to keep up on the latest equipment, instruments and techniques used in dental hygiene today. It is her goal to treat, educate, and help you to maintain your dental health.
Mary Beth is a native Chicagoan. She loves to sing and did an awesome job when given the opportunity to perform the national anthem at a Chicago White Sox Game.
“I want patients to have a great experience when they come see us and I’ll do everything I can to make that happen.”
Tasha has been in the dental field since 2002 working as both a business administrator and as an assistant. Because she has been in the field so long, she knows most aspects of dentistry and is happy to help you with anything that you may need.
Tasha graduated from Harrington Institute of Interior Design in 2005 and loves to design in her free time. She enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities such as running and boating especially with her family at their cabin in Lake of the Ozarks. Tasha loves to vacation and explore new places.
Business Administrator/Treatment Assistant
"I enjoy making sure a patient’s needs are always met with a smile on my face. It makes me happy to see that our patients are happy.”
Anel started her career in the dental field in 2001 as an assistant. She instantly knew that this was the career for her. Although now primarily a business administrator, she also enjoys assisting, especially with surgical and cosmetic treatment.
Anel particularly loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys sports (an avid Cubs fan) and attends many games throughout the various seasons. This past year she became a fitness coach after losing 40lbs, and with the help and support of four other coaches, they run on line accountability groups to help others achieve their fitness goals.
“As a dental hygienist, I have two goals: That my patients leave the office with nice clean teeth, and that they have a big smile on their face when they do!”
Giana knows that sometimes people are a bit nervous about checkups, so she works extra hard to make their visit relaxed and pain free. She’s been doing this very well since receiving her degree in Dental Hygiene from Parkland College in Champaign, IL.
She lives in Lincoln Park and enjoys everything Chicago has to offer. When she is not working she loves to shop, spend time with friends and family, and is learning how to cook.
Business Administrator/Treatment Assistant
“I pride myself in delivering the utmost level of customer service to all our patients. There is nothing more satisfying in my profession then to help others.”
Melanie graduated from DePaul University in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Business offered by Driehaus College of Business. Melanie started her career as a dental receptionist and gained valuable experience in performing multiple roles in the dental office. Melanie strongly believes in passing on knowledge to her patients because an informed patient is a happy patient.
Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, taking vacations and most of all, shopping! Her favorite place to vacation is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee. If you want to see the most beautiful sight nature has to offer, Melanie recommends heading to Clingman's Dome in the Smokies.
Personnel & Accounts Payable Manager
“I am proud to be married to and working with the most conscientious, knowledgeable, and caring dentist you could ever ask for.”
It’s rare you get to see Randee, the wife of Dr. Nealis, because she is mostly behind the scenes handling the areas of personnel, accounts payable, banking, marketing, and the all important, chairman of social events. Although she is not in the office daily, the practice and its ability to serve our patients in the best possible manner is her constant goal. She values being able to connect with our family of patients on the occasions when she is at the office.
She and Neal met while attending the University of Illinois. After raising their two daughters, Courtney and Lindsey, in Oak Park, Illinois, they now reside a few blocks from the dental office in the Streeterville area. Entertaining, cooking, gardening, traveling, and reading are Randee’s favorite pastimes.
